How to calculate hot water energy

Method: Heating energy = water mass × specific heat × temperature rise ÷ system efficiency

  1. Use the heated water volume.
  2. Calculate temperature rise from inlet to target.
  3. Apply heater efficiency, then multiply electrical energy by tariff for cost.
