How to calculate filament usage

Method: Filament length = mass ÷ (material density × filament cross-sectional area)

  1. Use slicer-estimated or measured filament mass.
  2. Select actual filament diameter and material density.
  3. Calculate length and compare mass with remaining spool capacity.

Worked example
