How to calculate transformer ratio

Method: Secondary voltage = primary voltage × secondary turns ÷ primary turns

  1. Use the primary RMS voltage and turns.
  2. Apply the turns ratio for ideal secondary voltage.
  3. Check load VA and expected regulation separately.
